monkees and trees - a natural partnership

Planting Trees For A Better Tommorow Effective January 2007, Monkee-Boy launched its new environmental project to help reduce global warming – The Monkee-Boy Tree Initiative.

The project, based on planting trees through the American Forests organization, involves planting 50 trees for each new site launched that will help offset the energy used to host and view these web sites online.

Monkee-Boy, as a proud member of American Forests, has also purchased 100 trees to offset its corporate emissions – by a factor of 50.

"At Monkee-Boy, we are sensitive to the fragile nature of our environment and understand that we too play a part in its future – for better or worse. As a company we are constantly looking for more ways we can help make the world a better place, so developing The Monkee-Boy Tree Initiative is the next step in our involvement."

"By offsetting our corporate carbon expenditures (by a factor of 50) we have actually now become 'carbon negative' and by planting 50 trees through the American Forests organization for each site we launch we can make sure that the energy used to power the sites we build are offset as well. We only wish we had thought of this sooner."

Total Planted To Date: 4,350 trees and counting...

About American Forests

American ForestsAmerican Forests (americanforests.org) is a world leader in planting trees for environmental restoration, a pioneer in the science and practice of urban forestry, and a primary communicator of the benefits of trees and forests. As the nations’s oldest nonprofit, they work to protect, restore and enhance the natural capital of trees and forests. Healthy forests filter water, remove air pollution, sequester carbon, and provide homes for wildlife.

The organization is proud of its historic roots in the development of America's conservation movement and proud of the new approaches the organization has developed to help people improve the environment in the 21st Century. American Forests’ Ecosystem Restoration and Maintenance Agenda presents our core values and seeks to build support for our policy goals. These goals focus on assisting communities in planning and implementing tree and forest actions to restore and maintain healthy ecosystems and communities.
