Aaron Bramwell

Founder and Creative Director

Aaron Bramwell - Founder and Creative Director

Aaron Facts:
What: With over a decade of visual design, web and multimedia development experience, Aaron is responsible for overseeing corporate operations, project strategy, and ensuring the level of quality that Monkee-Boy has become known for over the years. Serving in many high tech roles – from building a website that received more than one million hits per day for United Devices, to developing one of Austin's "Top 10 Most Visited Sites" for Hire.com – Aaron has built a solid reputation for helping companies translate business goals into clean, effective and intuitive user experiences. Immediately prior to Monkee-Boy, Aaron served as the Senior Designer at Powered, Inc. where he crafted high-end educational portals for dozens of Fortune 500 clients including Sony, Intel, Gateway Computers, Yahoo!, Buy.com, AOL, and Corel. Aaron holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin College of Fine Arts and a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Who: Sleepy Sci-Fi Rocker Tree-hugging Internet Cowboy.
Background: Born in Vegas. Raised by hippies. Hooked 'em. Met a girl. Learned to code.
Favorite Color: Jazz
Idiosyncratic things about me: Gets unusually happy when he has a lime in his ice tea.
Personal Likes: Sandwiches, to-go drinks, new music, goldfish and family cuddle time.

Joe Pickerill

Partner and Marketing Director

Joe Pickerill  –  Partner and Marketing Director

Joe Facts:
What: Joe built his first web site in 1995; completed his first SEO campaign in 2000; and planned and executed his first integrated, online lead generation campaign (for a Global 100 company) in 2001. Over the past 15 years, Joe has helped our customers sell everything from multi-million-dollar enterprise software packages to $5 cigars online. The ability to measure any interaction on a web site, and use that data to continuously improve online sales and marketing processes makes Joe really happy.
Who: I am an optimistic skeptic, who wants to look on the bright side, but has to see the numbers first.
Background: I grew up in Austin (arrived in 1970 at the age of four), briefly moved to the Midwest, the Deep South and then back to Austin to attend the University of Texas. I've been here ever since and now have a wonderful wife and three pretty cool kids.
Favorite Color: Green
Idiosyncratic things about me: I always have a story that's in some way related to your story. I can't help myself...when you tell a story about the time you were stationed at a military listening post on the Aleutian Islands, I'm going to tell you my story about being trapped in a blizzard in Iowa that knocked the power out for four days. Like I said, I can't help myself.
Personal Likes: My family, UT Longhorn athletics, breakfast tacos, frito pie, barbecue, skiing, biking, (I also like dogs, but my current dog is a bit of a knucklehead so I'm kind of on the fence.)

Majick Robinson

Account Manager

Majick Robinson – Account Manager

Majick Facts:
What: Majick brings over a decade of dedicated account and project management skills to Monkee-Boy and is responsible for ensuring each project’s overall success. To accomplish this, Majick taps in to her amazing understanding of clients, the web, an uncanny attention to detail, and ongoing clear communication to make sure each project is transparent keeping everyone on the same page at the same time.
Who: I am an energetic happy go lucky east coast girl that has made her home in Austin TX.
Background: I was brought up at the renaissance festival for half of my life and the other half with my classical musician father. I have lived from Colorado to Maryland to Philadelphia to Texas. Austin has not been able to shake me since I arrived in 1994.
Favorite Color:
Green and Blue love them both I cant decide!
Idiosyncratic things about me:
I am a hyper, eccentric, happy, kind hearted, organized, talker.
Personal Likes: I love all sports, exercising outdoors, hanging out with friends, kittens, music, laughing, and life!

Pete Gautier

Developer

Pete Gautier  –  Developer

Pete Facts:
What: Pete brings to Monkee-Boy over a decade of experience in programming for the Web. His varied experiences with programming and databases provide the flexibility and knowledge to tailor database-backed solutions to client specifications. From content management systems to complex Web software systems, his skills have proved a good match for the emerging needs of Monkee-Boy and its clients.
Who: Lost Cajun, Austin expat.
Background: Drawn to Austin over 15 ago by graduate studies in psychology at UT Austin, Pete found his true calling during the explosion of the World Wide Web. Leaving academia for the promise of more interesting adventures in the world of computer programming, he embarked on a career that, though unexpected, would prove richly rewarding.
Favorite Color: I don't have one. I wouldn't want the other colors to feel bad.
Idiosyncratic things about me: I don't have a favorite color.
Personal Likes: Bicycling, good beer, good food, good music, and sharing all of the above with friends.

Nikki Hampson

Web/Mobile Designer

Nikki Hampson - Web/Mobile Designer

Nikki Facts:
What: Nikki is Monkee-Boy’s Web/Mobile Designer, and is passionate about cutting edge web technology and design innovations. Before Monkee-Boy, she ran her own business as a freelance designer, which helped her become an excellent communicator and quick worker. She loves to help clients bring their visions to life with sites that are beautiful and engaging.
Who: Urban bohemian creative with a love for Moroccan lanterns and all things colorful
Background: Nikki was born in New York, but fled to warmer temperatures over a decade ago, and has since studied in Waco and Tokyo before falling in love with Austin’s eclectic charm. She is a tireless creative who has worked in both screenprinting and publishing before finding her true passion in web design. Nikki has been featured in Advanced Photoshop Magazine, Creative Design Magazine, and Abduzeedo, among others.
Favorite Color: This has to be one of the hardest questions for me! There are so many colors I like, but I suppose lately I’ve been gravitating towards mixing neutrals with chartreuse, tangerine, & seafoam.
Idiosyncratic things about me: I often feel most creative in the middle of the night, so I procrastinate sleep as much as possible
Personal Likes: Photography, street art, coffee, travel, rescuing stray kitties, & music festivals

Stephanie Cain

Marketing Specialist

Stephanie  Cain – Marketing Specialist

Stephanie Facts:
What: Stephanie joins Joe in the marketing department fostering strategies such as search engine optimization, content development, newsletter campaigning, and social networking. When needed, Stephanie also helps out the maintenance team with her web design and development skills.
Who: Perceptive and soulful adventurista with a penchant for DIY and a taste for night-life
Background: Transplanted from Indiana, Stephanie brings a wealth of marketing knowledge gleaned from her time at Purdue University. Along with marketing and communication, Stephanie also studied photography and art history; two knowledge sets that inform her understanding of the pairing of design and technology.
Favorite Color: I enjoy all things golden or covered with David Bowie’s visage.
Idiosyncratic things about me: I would rather bike than drive, I have a knack for finding thrift-store treasures, and I've had a pie thrown at my face more than five times!
Personal Likes: Photography, design, art history, cycling, hosting, vegetarian food, and and traveling with the intention of discovery.

Mark Roma

Maintenance Manager

Mark Roma– Maintenance Manager

Mark Facts:
What: While working his way towards a degree in graphic design, Mark had the realization that the future of marketing communication depended largely on the ability of firms to translate complicated designs into flexible digital interactivity. This led him to study various types of code, content management systems such as Wordpress and Drupal, and the science of creating SEO compliant semantic markup that would help beautifully designed websites function and compete in the evolving digital market.
Who: A graphic designer who codes, or a coder who designs...
Background: Contrary to popular belief, there is much more to New York than the "City that never sleeps." It took Mark 25 years to migrate from the frozen Upstate wasteland to the tropical climate of Georgia to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design in order to chase his dreams of using creativity to pay his bills. After graduation, pushy friends convinced him that Austin was a place to meet "his kind of people." Fortunately, he believed them, and managed to meet his wife, rescue two dogs, and join the Monkee-Boy team in the years that followed.
Favorite Color: Wasabi.
Idiosyncratic things about me: I love schlocky 80's action films.
Personal Likes: Esoteric Kung Fu movies, the Bauhaus, zombie comics, lightsabers, and dumplings.

Jessica Bergman

Quality Assurance Specialist

Jessica Bergman – Quality Assurance

Jessica Facts:
What: With a degree in English and years of experience with editing and proofreading, Jessica oversees the high standard of quality Monkee-Boy clients depend on. She is tasked with maintaining site consistency across all user experiences and platforms in addition to monthly quality assurance benchmarking for our most maintenance heavy clients.
Who: I am detail oriented, enthusiastic and committed to doing my best for every project I am a part of. I love being outdoors and nature helps enhance my calm and sweet personality.
Background: I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and then moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to attend Marquette University. Milwaukee taught me to hate winter, so I moved to Austin when I graduated, and I hope to never leave this amazing city.
Favorite Color: Green
Idiosyncratic things about me: One of my goals is to camp in every National Park in the United States, but I still have a long way to go.
Personal Likes: Running, reading, photography and anything outdoors.

Soumya N. Ashok

Designer / Developer

Soumya N. Ashok AKA Miya - Designer,Developer,Mistress of Maintenance

Miya Facts:
What: Miya has been with Monkee Boy for almost 4 years now, and has dabbled in many different aspects of the business. She understands the ins and outs of the maintenance maze, and is currently responsible for keeping our clients happy by taking care of their day-to-day needs and leading content load on new projects. Armed with excellent communication skills, Miya is very thorough and detail oriented in her work and loves to close loops.
Who: A free spirited madcap who manages to stay focused and grounded in spite of her mind that runs wild with creative fury.
Background: Born and raised in India, I moved to Austin in 2006. I absolutely love meeting people from different backgrounds and cultures and am always willing to be a friend. I have been closely associated with Indian classical arts from the time I was a child, and am actively involved within the community in Austin. Travel, books and food are a few of my favorite things.
Favorite Color: I meet very few colors I don't like, but I gravitate towards rich jewel tones.
Idiosyncratic things about me: Everything has to smell good at all times, cereal for dinner is ok, and lists are your friends.
Personal Likes: Vintage stores, stand-up comedy, movies, plays, shoes, time with friends, street art, decorative paper, fashion blogs.
